» FAQ on pet transportation

The following are frequently asked questions in the movement of live animals.

Can we use our own container? - YES, but be careful as some containers will not be approved under IATA Regulations

What documentation do we need? - Please check with loading and destination forwarders to see how the procedures would be. Just In Time will arrange shipping them smoothly for customers.

Should we give our pet, food and water prior to traveling? - Your pet should be lightly fed a small portion of its normal diet no more than 5 hours before the flight. All travel boxes are fitted with water containers which will be refilled on departure.

Can our pet travel in the Cabin with me? - NO, your pet must travel in the cargo hold, which is pressurized and temperature controlled.

Should my pet be sedated? - NO. No sedation is advised or required.

Can our pet travel on the same flight as ourselves? - YES in most cases

We will label the container with standard IATA Live Animal Labels and the This Way Up labels on at least 3 sides of the container.

You should fix a label clearly showing the name and address of the owner, a 24 hour contact phone number and the consignee's name and address to the top of the container.

A water tube and dried food should be provided and stapled to the container lest the aircraft may delay. Guidance for feeding and watering must be ready and legible in written form, well-fixed to the container. Any medication given should also be informed clearly in writing with the appellation of the drugs as well as detailed itineraries. Tranquilization is totally not advisable for air transport of animals.

Please advise the handling/forwarding company if you are traveling on the same flight. If not, please stay at the airport until you know that the flight is firm for taking off. This will be helpful in case of unexpected matters and possible delay. A handling/forwarding agent is also necessary to be present at the departing as well as at the arriving airport.
